Chairman's Report

The competition calendar had followed the same order as last year. All the usual competitions had been run in the previous season, the age group competitions and team foil at Hitchin and the County Championship weekend at the Royal Masonic School for girls. The team foil was due to take place after the A.G.M. The entry in the age group competitions was up by 50% due to an increased attendence by the Hitchin club and St Albans Girls School. The numbers in the adult competitions were similar to the year before, but numbers in the team foil were down. The event winners so far were as follows:

Men's Foil: Paul Cramphorn (University)
Ladies' Foil: Victoria Bradley (St Albans Girls School)
Men's Epee: Peter Eames (Unaffiliated)
Men's Sabre: Andy Aitken (North London Sabre)
Ladies' Epee: Svetlana Elliot (St Albans)
Ladies' Sabre: Julia Rhodes (North London Sabre)

Several courses had been run during the year. An armoury course was run in September, and a series of coaching workshops through the season. It was hoped that number and variety of courses being run could be sustained with the renewed level interest coming from fencers in the county

Treasurer's Report

The traditional problems with the account had not been ironed out and still needed to be addressed. The association was still running at break-even and the finances remained healthy.
