All competitors must be members of the BFA who either reside in Hertfordshire or are members of an affilliated club in the county. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO JOIN THE BFA ON THE DAY. The novice foil competition is open to those who have been fencing for less than two years. There are no novice Sabre or Epee competitions, but don't let that put you off! All competitors must be thirteen years of age or over on the 1 Jan 2008.

All competitions will be fenced with electric equipment throughout so Breeches are Mandatory as are 800N Plastrons. These Requirements are the standard requirements for Electric Fencing and SHOULD BE USED AT ALL TIMES, even club nights! Correct protective clothing should be worn. Fencers are responsible for their own weapons and equipment.

There are catering facilities. Food and drink must not be consumed in the Hall. Alternatively, Please bring your own packed lunch to be eaten in an allotted area. Black soled shoes must not be worn in the hall. The HFA and Hertfordshire Sports Village cannot accept responsibility for any accident or injury received during the competitions.

Please ensure that a parent or guardian signs the entry form for all those under 18 on the day.
